I’ve had the honor of shooting Sheila’s work for a number of years at this point. It is always a pleasure to work with her. She is detailed, meticulous, and very picky, and I love it. She always pushes me to do my very best work. Her jewelry reflects her character — artistry and precision. I have come to understand that granulation is an ancient technique dating back several thousand years. It is extremely difficult and precise, requiring patience, steady hands, and a great degree of control, especially of the torch. As little as ten degrees too hot and either the granules will melt or the metal underneath them will buckle, ruining the piece. A technique not for the faint of heart!
